Ok, so I appreciated and liked this chat. There’s lots of good stuff here and a lot got clarified. I appreciate Jay being able to translate a bit of Pete’s stuff into a more practical reality. It’s helpful.
Two questions:
1) Pete keeps talking about not having a guy at the front telling people what to do (which I agree with; I don’t want to imply that I disagree with the point), but Pete often comes off like a guy telling us what to do. Perhaps its an existential problem with this sort of thing that can’t be overcome – but how to do you deal with it (especially since the line was closely followed up by “I led a group like this in Belfast and I’m forming another one”) – there’s a lot of “follow me” implications there.
2) I keep coming back to this faith claim that, for me, informs all of my belief and actions – at least on the intellectual level you spoke about. There’s this idea that the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus gave real, visceral proof to the idea that love wins – no matter how things appear to work around us. I think I get some of that in Insurrection and also in the talk here, but I don’t here it explicitly said ever. What do you make of that faith claim?
Hi Revolution
Thank you for a great talk – Jay and Pete did it very weel.
