Revolution NYC meets every Sunday at 4 pm, at Pete's Candy Store, 709 Lorimer St., Brooklyn, NY 11211 (map here).
Anxiously awaiting the opening of the new location that actually is built in my neighborhood. In looking for and opening date I searched this sight for info from my phone (you can appreciate how small the info appears on an iPhone). Interestingly enough, the largest word in print is the word PayPal! Looking for an alternative to the denominational church experience but that concerns me. I’m looking for a GOD First, GOD Only place to worship. Am I reading too much into this?
Needing something more than a CASH First Church.
Jay, having invited Jesus to be my Lord in 1984, sitting on my apt. sofa, watching a Heritage Church service with your dad, I just have to say how I rejoice to see you and what you are doing and HOW YOU ARE IMPACTING THIS GENERATION WITH THE LOVE OF GOD!!! Soooooo refreshing to hear the message of LOVE. One that is shaking up ‘the church’ to it’s (our) religious, unloving core. WOW, I am amazed at the voice God has given you to speak and represent GOD’S LOVE. God bless you, wonderful, sweet boy. Did I just call you a boy? I still see that precious little face…Godspeed to you in this new year! I haven’t been to NYC since 1998 (for my honeymoon), but if ever I can make it there, (am in CA), I will look you up. I have ALWAYS LOVED your family and you all hold your very own special place in my heart…it was your dear mom whocaught my attention to even tune in. She fascinated this 22yr old girl back in’84…who was this woman? who was this Jesus she spoke of and cried about? I couldn’t stop watching TammyFaye and finally after a whole year, Jesus was real to me too. To this day, I lovingly kid (not kidding really) that when I finally get to Glory, I want my mansion (it could be a phone booth, really. I won’t care!!) to be next to TammyFaye Bakker Mesner…so Mr. Jay Bakker, Godspeed…and when you have done all to stand, stand. I stand with you, dear man.
In response to Jim’s comment re:PAYPAL…having browsed the Internet for Jay Bakker, I have watched interviews on you-tube and read countless articles. His willingness to go where he goes and speak the acceptance message of love the way he does, I haven’t heard a ‘cash first’ tone at all…I have consistently heard a love first message. Check it out…check him out. You are most likely going to be wowed by what this young man has to say and how he loves all people. “For God so loved the WORLD…” As to PAYPAL appearing as an option, every work, business, ministry etc. must be funded. Every aspect of our lives requires resources (please forgive, I know I’m preaching to the choir), so that is merely there for those of us outside of NYC who desire to be a part of and support what God is doing through Jay Bakker’s church (ministry). Kinda like supporting a missionary. You are wise to ask and seek, so look into Jay further and go hear what this man is saying to this next generation. God’s love to you in all you do!
