Have fun in Memphis!! Praying for you.
Jay,
It was great hearing you speak at the ELCA National Youth Gathering. I somewhat grew up alongside you as a kid growing up in the Charlotte area in NC. I was really touched by your message on love. Very powerful! Any who, keep on keeping on. I’m a big fan!
Peace,

Jay,
Thanks for speakin’ in NOLA! It was good to hear you talk. As I said on Twitter… I wish they could have given you more time. I feel short sermons don’t really allow any time to dig into a topic.
Keep up the good work!
My son, Husband and 41 youth from our church were at the gathering. Although they said it was very short I believe you got your message of love across to the crowd. Thank you for speaking at this event you were a highlight for several people I spoke to. I will keep listen to your sermons online because they are amazing.
BTW-Will you ever go to Cornerstone Music Fest again? I heard you speak a few years back at Lifest but would love to see you at Cornerstone.
Hi Jay. I’m in youth ministry and brought kids from my church to JJJ. A while back I read your book and felt your story in a powerful way. I was reminded of my own memories of PTL, Heritage, and of your parents. I was left feeling really saddenened that I didn’t have aplace like heritage to take my own daughter to. I started to do a lot of research, wanting to see if I could find some purpose for all the hurt, and find the lessons in all of it. I then read both your parents’ books. At this point, my wonderful Lutheran colleagues thought I was going a little off the deep end, but I knew you had found the truth of the Gospel and that I could learn much from your journey.
Imagine my joy (and downright SHOCK) when I saw your picture on the ELCA website for the gatherting. We Lutherans like to play it pretty safe, and I don’t see that as being your path!
So, just wanted to take the time to tell you that even though I was so disappointed (actually downright infuriated) at how little time they gave you, YOU NAILED IT, my brother. And they’ll know we are Christians by our love…
The irony is that this generation has no idea about your parents. Your message of grace stands on it’s own. Blessings to you on your ministry.
I was in NOLA also and loved your sermon. The topic of love was all around us and you hit the nail on the head with the getting the theology differences out of the way so we can see what really matters. I hope to visit you in Brooklyn soon with my son.
