Great piece on atheism in Lexington, one of the Economist magazine’s weekly editorial columns.  Please take a look- and see what it suggests towards the end about the how Christians can sometimes make non-Christians feel.  Would love to hear your thoughts right here after you read!

Good article, good food for thought. Who would Jesus exclude? No one. Not athiests, gays, homeless, unemployed, drug addicts, criminals, or Republicans. (Joke!)

Living in the world as Jesus did, as God wants us to, means constantly reawakening, re-examining, reminding ourselves of God’s unconditional and unlimited love. Articles like this bring to our attention those who are excluded. Thanks for posting the link!

A good article. I would hope more Christians and Atheists take the time to learn from each other, and be respectful, sensitive, and tolerant when discussing personal beliefs rather than immediately cringing, judging, and conveying negativity at certain people because of what they stand for. I would rather send my kids to an atheists camp than bible school any day of the week. I grew up in a religiously oppressive household living to serve a God who atheists view as one who gets off on torturing and condemning billions simply because they don’t believe in him/her. My faith has gone from fundamentalist God-fearing Christian, to non-denominational christian, to liberal believer in in a God, to being on the fence and weighing the arguments of both sides. Mainly, it’s Christians who have pushed me away from religion and faith, and most can’t defend their own faith while attacking me and excluding me for questioning the Bible and God. I’m enjoying my search for answers, and appreciate the great conversations with knowledgeable and respectful believers and non-believers of many different faiths. I enjoy what Revolution Church is all about, and your thoughts and discussions are helping to keep my faith alive.
