Hello Revolution Folks!

I am very excited to announce that Revolution has found a bar here in Minneapolis, and an awesome one at that! The moment I stepped into Bryant Lake Bowl, I knew it was perfect for Revolution. They’ve got a unique, vintage space with an intimate theater, drinks, food, and of course bowling (for some after Revolution fun)! I was also drawn to the connection Bryant Lake Bowl has with the Minneapolis community, showcasing local talent, cabaret and serving locally sourced food and beers. Starting Sunday May 12th (Mother’s Day) at 4PM, Revolution Church in Minneapolis will be meeting at Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater! Check them out here.

In addition to this, Revolution Church in Brooklyn, continues to meet every Sunday at Pete’s Candy Store, also on Sundays at 4 pm.

For the online community, all this means is that soon you will be getting 2 podcasts from us here at Revolution!

In this time of transition and growth, we desperately need your help. Our operating costs have doubled, and we are in serious need of financial help. Please consider making a tax deductible donation today by clicking here. Thank you!

In Grace,

Greetings from Brooklyn!

Change can be a difficult thing. In fact, change is almost always difficult. Jesus recognized this when he took the bread and the wine, and by doing so prepared his disciples for the change that was about to come. Our faith is built on being transformed continually by the Grace of God.

Currently, Revolution NYC is in that space of transition. As most of you have heard, our co-pastor and my friend, Jay Bakker recently got married and is in the process of moving to Minneapolis. This is a big change for them and a big change for us here. We will all miss Jay here in Brooklyn, but wish him and his wife blessings on this new chapter in their lives.

It is a new chapter for Revolution NYC as well. I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of what is happening with your church, whether you are a member on-line, in Brooklyn, or soon to be a member in Minneapolis! We are still in a period of transition, but this is what is happening currently. The first change is that we will be changing the name to Revolution Church. This name change reflects the fact that we will now have two physical locations and our on-line congregation which transcends location. Jay and I will both continue to be co-pastors. Jay will be having a Revolution gathering in Minneapolis. He is currently looking for bars to have that meeting in. Revolution Church will continue to podcast his sermons on a weekly basis. In addition to that, the Brooklyn community will continue to meet at Pete’s Candy Store every Sunday at 4 pm. For that meeting we will have a variety of formats, including interviews, guest speakers, musical guests, interactive Google Hangouts, and an occasional sermon from yours truly! This meeting will also be podcasted weekly. In addition to that, we will be starting a monthly music podcast, as well as the return of our question and answer video podcast. What this means for the on-line member of Revolution is that you will have more and varied content from us here at Revolution. We have always believed that the biggest part of our ministry is to communicate the message of God’s radical inclusive Grace. With the addition of more weekly podcasts, we are taking a huge step forward in that area of our ministry.

Another big part of our ministry is to build a community that receives and ministers to this radical Gospel of Grace. We are committed to the ideal of creating a church that knows no walls. Through our two physical locations, and our website, podcasts, and social media sites, we want a church that anyone, anywhere is welcome. Whether you walk though the doors of one the bars we meet at, or you log on, and join us online, you are a part of this community of Grace. We will be launching several ways for you to connect in the coming months both on-line and at our physical locations. To make this work we need your participation. Please continue to comment on the podcasts, or start discussions with the extended community on Twitter, Facebook, and our newly redesigned website.

In this time of transition we need your help. We need funds to produce the new podcasts, buy new audio and video equipment, maintain our new website, as well as continue our regular ministries of being with people when they need us and being a resource to other communities of Grace. We are are not supported by grants, or a larger church or organization. We rely solely on your contributions. We need your help to insure that Revolution Church survives and thrives through this exciting time. To make a tax deductible donation please click here.

In the hope of the Resurrection!
Vince Anderson
